Gottfried Tritten (1923-2015), known as 'Tiz', left behind so much when he died – in addition to the gap in our lives.

The majority of his sketchbooks and project sheets, his business correspondence and other documents of art-historical value were handed over to the State Archives of the Canton of Valais at his request. He lived in Valais in his studio house in Grimisuat above Sion for half his life.

Paintings that he had not sold, given away or swapped with other artists during his lifetime filled the depot of his studio in Grimisuat. In addition to completed paintings and prints, this artistic legacy also includes incomplete works, sketches and his collection of works by other artists, many of whom had been his students.

After Gottfried Tritten's death in 2015, this artistic estate was divided between his two daughters. The part that went to Sibylle Tritten is now curated by Galerie Artiz.

There, his legacy will be presented to the public in various exhibitions.
